“Maybe nobody will know this drawing is supposed to be you?” said Matilda.

“It’s a really good likeness,” Yumi, helpful as ever, noted. “Hard to mistake. Who do you think drew it?”

“The bassist in Phantom Moustache, Preston? I think he draws,” Henry said.

“Oh, yeah. He’s really good,” Yumi agreed.

“Who cares if he’s good?” October said.

“They must have been at school so early to do this,” Matilda marvelled. “There must be a hundred of these. It’s almost impressive.”

October glared at Crenshaw House’s drummer.

“But, obviously, it’s not,” she corrected.

The morning tone sounded.

“I’m going to be late for Mr. Copeland’s class,” October fretted.

“But what are you going to do about this smear campaign?” Yumi said.

“Nothing. I don’t know. What can I do?”

Henry Khan walked over to the poster directly before them and pulled it down, balling it up in his fist. He then strode a few paces down to the next one and repeated the action.

“Henry, there are so many,” October said. “You’ll miss class.”

“So I’ll miss class,” he said, not wavering from his newly self-imposed mission. “I can catch up in chemistry later. This seems more important.”

“Didn’t Levi say you have perfect attendance?” October said.

“I don’t think so.”

“I think I can skip class today too,” Yumi said. “Let me go find Stacey. What about you, Matilda?”

“Barely go to class as it is.”

By second period, all evidence of October Schwartz as a “dangerous perv” was collected in the dumpster by the basketball court out back. October, in retrospect, regretted being so reluctant to offer her new friends aid. Epecially since Levi had been subjected to similar harassment and worse.
